Team SUBARU placed 2nd in the National Corporate Ekiden in 2022, which was its highest-ever ranking. “Ekiden" is a very unique running culture in Japan. Many Kenyan athletes in Japan experience this Japanese Ekiden culture. Many of Japan's corporate teams usually have two Kenyan athletes in one team. We would like to introduce two Kenyan athletes who played important roles for the team last season. They have been training in Japan. In particular, newbie Benson Kiplangat is a gold medalist in the 2021 Nairobi U20 World Championships in 5000m. He is now aiming to represent Kenya in the 2022 Eugene World Championships in 5000m this year. We also talked with coach Wataru Okutani, and filmed the training sessions of Ryuya Kajitani and other SUBARU’s athletes. The workout: Kiplangat, Rolot: 15 x 400m with 200m jog recovery Kajitani, Mafune: 3 x (3 x 300m) with 200m jog recovery / SR400m jog -- -- -- 創部54年目のSUBARU陸上競技部は、21回目の出場となった2022年のニューイヤー駅伝で過去最高順位の2位に入った。 -- -- -- Many of you have asked if there is a way to financially support the production of our videos.
