Today's guest went to high school across the street from Lee University, earned his undergraduate degree from Lee University, and now serves as the head coach of Lee University. Caleb joins us to talk about his passion for coaching track and field which began early in his high school athletic career. We talk about how he chose Lee University, the transition from NAIA to D2 athletics, and the career path of current All-American Christian Noble. Along the way we discuss the new track and field project from infancy to opening and the impact it has made on current students and recruiting.

On this episode I get to talk to one of the most decorated distance runners in D2 history, Christian Noble, 2x National Champ, 7x All American, and 2x NCAA D2 Record Holder. We talk about why he went D2 over D1, his first few years at Lee, his breakthrough in 2021, his recent record breaking performances at Boston, and what’s up next for him in the future!

Got really random for my first episode and talked about some cool perspectives on big things that happened this past week in our sport of running.

“If I come back next year, we’re going to target all the D2 records.”
If you’re not familiar with Christian Noble's name yet that’s OK because he’s letting some of his performances do the talking for him. In the past two weeks, he set two Division II indoor track records at 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters. He ran 13:37.39 on Jan. 24 in Birmingham, Alabama and then came back a few days later to run 7:51.46 for 3,000 meters. Initially, LetsRun.com reported that the NCAA wouldn’t count the 5K record because the meet used pacing lights on the inside of the track. However, they later walked back that decision and said the mark would count. Christian is the Division II leader in the mile, 3K and 5K. Get to know a little bit more about him.
