Jenny Blundell has been one of Australia’s biggest middle-distance talents for many years now. A crazy talented junior, she is one of the rare few who has been able to convert her junior talent into success as an adult. She made the semi-finals for the 1500m at the 2016 Rio Olympics and is set to toe the line in the 5000m at the upcoming Games in Tokyo.
We caught up with Jenny as she puts the final touches on her Olympic preparations…

Neil & Geoff speak to bubbly 5000m superstar & Olympian Jenny Blundell in her first ever podcast interview, they learn how a full time exercise physiologist specialising in stroke & cardiac orthopaedic rehab finds time to qualify for the Olympics during COVID, how the complicated qualification process works & why she qualified even though she missed out by .27 of a second, whether she’ll go sub 15 mins, how many spikes she’ll take to Tokyo, why her body & the brutality of the 1500m pushed her to the 5000m, why her long runs involve 85 mins on a track & why she once rocked up to the start of a race with the taste of a Macca’s cheeseburger in her mouth.
