Parker Valby is finally racing again, and the bar is higher. After just one indoor track race in her entire first year as a pro, the one of the most decorated NCAA distance runner sin history is entered in the Sound Running Track Fest 5K. Rojo, Weldon, and JG break down what to expect: Is 15 flat even acceptable anymore? What has Lauren Ryan's jaw-dropping rise from 15:30 to 14:40 done to the standard? And is Valby's biggest problem not talent, but the ability to stay healthy and handle volume? Plus: the hard truth about compounding gains, why New Balance is still getting their money's worth, and what it would actually take for Parker Valby to compete for global medals. 00:00 - Breaking news: Valby enters the Sound Running 5K 00:28 - Only her second pro track race ever 00:53 - What should we actually expect from her? 01:00 - Weldon: if she's entered, she's going under 15 02:09 - The Lauren Ryan standard — and why it matters 03:21 - Valby needs to be running 14:30s as a pro 03:38 - 10th at USA Cross Country: a warning sign? 04:06 - Emma Grace Hurley running 15:01 raises the bar 04:23 - Talent doesn't go away — but is she racing enough? 04:40 - New Balance ads on Facebook: she's still visible 05:00 - Weldon: compounding gains — you can't just pick up where you left off 05:24 - Rojo's biggest concern: can she handle the training volume? 06:30 - What it takes to contend for global medals: near 14 flat 📖 More at LetsRun.com: https://www.letsrun.com 💬 Debate it on the forums: https://www.letsrun.com/forum LetsRun #ParkerValby #TrackAndField #5000m #SoundRunning #WomensDistance #LaurenRyan #ProRunning #RunningPodcast #TrackFest
