Your cadence is how many steps you take per minute. While some studies suggest it can improve running efficiency, I think the best research on the subject is how it can reduce impact load (or stress) on the lower body caused by running.⁣ ⁣⁣ ⌚To find your cadence you can use the data from many GPS watches or count how many steps you take in 1 minute. I suggest just counting one leg and then multiplying it by 2. Or you could even do 30 seconds and multiply by 4. Example: Left leg hits the ground 40 times in 30 seconds. 40 x 4 = 160 steps per minute.⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 👟For more on this topic, check out my latest YouTube video. ⁣ ⁣⁣ 🎉For more on running form check out the @HigherRunning course and for coaching or training plans from 5k to 100 miles, check out HigherRunning.com⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣⁣ #HigherRunning #AnySurfaceAnyDistance #RunningAdvice #RunFaster #RunningCoach #marathontraining #halfmarathontraining #runningcommunity #marathoner #RunningWild #runninginspiration #runnerlife #runningform #runnersofinstagram #runninggoals #inspiringwomenrunners
