NXR 2017

This trip was the experience of a lifetime. Nike Cross Nationals Southwest is a race featuring all of the best XC runners within Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada. This race is typically the biggest XC race that a high schooler will run in their XC career. The top 5 individual finishers and top 2 teams of this massive race qualify for the Nationwide meet in Oregon. Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to fly down to Arizona and race at this meet with my team. After a rough finish at state, I was very skeptical about how I would do, but ended up running one of my best races ever and earning a qualifying spot to NXN. I finished 3rd with a 14:53. The team didn't quite run how we new we could've, but still finished with a solid 6th place. Also, congrats to Mountain Vista Highschool for winning the entire thing! I apologize for not getting any of the actual race footage or afterwards! Sometimes you just have to soak in and enjoy the moment.
