First run in the Streakfly 2 for a hill sprints session. Nike certainly listened to feedback on the first version of this shoe and made v2 a real racer. The plate position is aggressive and the relative lack of stack height makes this feel like a true race flat. There’s a feeling a negative drop when standing in the shoe, as you’re meant to be on your toes only. It’s like taking a track spike on the road, and the fit of the upper is as uncomfortable as any track spike I’ve ever been in.
The shoe is marketed as a road racing shoe for the mile up to the 10k, but you’ve got to have pretty strong feet to be able to take this shoe that far. I think I could take this shoe for 5k max. It’s lightweight and there’s plenty of carbon feel to it, but even though it has a lot of zoom X, it pretty much feels like I’m running directly on the carbon (which if you’re a road miler, could be exactly what you’re looking for)
