Merrell MTL Adapt Matryx First Run: Big stack trailer built for battling ultras

The Merrell MTL Adapt Matryx is a slightly wild looking max-stack trail shoes that’s been designed with 50km to 100 mile ultras in mind. It features a big wedge of FloatPro+ in the oversize midsole, a notable rocker plus a Vibram outsole with some 4mm lugs. We didn’t quite knock out 50km but we’ve taken it for a first spin on some runnable off-road to get a feel for Merrell’s most out-there shoe to date.
