The 2025 BOLDERBoulder, a renowned 10-kilometer road race, took place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado, marking its 45th annual event. Known as one of the largest and most celebrated 10K races in the United States, it attracted over 52,000 runners, walkers, and wheelchair racers from all 50 states and numerous countries, solidifying its status as the fourth-largest running event in the country, according to Running USA. The race began at 30th and Walnut streets, winding through Boulder’s scenic neighborhoods and downtown, before culminating inside the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field, where tens of thousands of spectators cheered participants to the finish. The event kicked off with the Professional Wheelchair Race at 6:45 a.m., followed by the “A” wave at 6:50 a.m., and continued with approximately 90 waves through 9:25 a.m., accommodating runners of all levels. A highlight of the day was the Memorial Day Tribute at noon, featuring skydivers, a flyover by F-16s from the Colorado Air National Guard, and a ceremony honoring military service members who gave their lives for the country. The course, over a mile above sea level, offered live music, dancers, and entertainment at every turn, with aid stations providing water and Nuun hydration. Participants received RFID-timed results, mile splits, official BOLDERBoulder race gear, and a finisher’s bag with food and treats from sponsors like Pepsi and Avery Brewing (for those 21+). Packet pickup was available prior to race day at the Sports Exhibit on the 1300 block of Pearl Street, and a Mobile Locker service allowed gear drop-off for $5 pre-race or $10 on the day. The University of Colorado’s Clear Bag Policy was strictly enforced at Folsom Field for safety. Named “America’s All-Time Best 10K” by Runner’s World Magazine, the BOLDERBoulder combined competition, community spirit, and a festive atmosphere, with costumes, slip-n-slides, and unique spectator support like bacon stations enhancing the experience.
